1 1/2 pound ground chuck
1 pound hot pork sausage
2 garlic cloves-minced
1 14 1/2oz can tomatoes-whole, crushed, stewed, or diced
1 8oz can tomato sauce
1 6oz can tomato paste
1 large onion-chopped
1 medium bell pepper-chopped
2 15oz cans kidney beans-drained
1/4 cup brown sugar-light or dark
1 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon black pepper
1 teaspoon crushed red pepper
1 teaspoon cayenne pepper
Brown ground chuck and sausage in large skillet.
Drain and transfer to slow cooker/crock pot(4 quart or larger).
Add remaining ingredients and mix well.
Cover and cook on low for 8-10 hours or high for 4-6 hours.
If chili becomes too thick,add a little water.
Can be served with corn bread and topped with sour cream, chopped raw onion, cheddar cheese, or whatever you like.
