Strips of Beef

Ingredients
  1. 1 lb of Round Steak
  2. 0.25 cup of Crisco
  3. 1.5 cups of Chopped Onions
  4. 2 tbls of Flour
  5. 1 cup of Canned Tomatoes
  6. 1 cup of Water
  7. 1 6 oz. of Tomato Paste
  8. 1 tbls of Sugar
  9. 1.5 tsp of Salt
  10. 0.25 tsp of Pepper
  11. 0.5 tsp of Worchestershire Sauce
  12. 0.75 cup of 3/4 to 1 1/2 cups Sliced Mushrooms
  13. 0.75 cup of Sour Cream




Procedure/Direction:
Cut steak into 1/2" strips. Brown the steak in Crisco.
Stir in chopped onions and flour. Cook until onions are tender, stirring occasionally.
Add canned tomatoes, water, tomato paste, sugar, salt & pepper and Worcestershire sauce.
Cover and simmer for 1 1/2 hrs or until meat is tender. Stir occasionally.

Add sliced mushrooms and sour cream. Put mixture inito 2 qt. casserole and top with sour cream puffs. rush with sour cream. Bake at at 425 degrees for 20-25 additionally minutes.

SOUR CREAM PUFFS

Sift together 1 1/4 cups sifted flour, 2 tsp baking powder, 1/2 tsp. salt. Cut in 1/4 cup Crisco until particles are fine. Add 3/4 cup sour cream.

Stir with fork until dough clings together in a ball (will be sticky). Pat out on a well-floured surface to 1/2" thickness. Cut to 8 2.5" biscuits. Top with 1" biscuit.
